RAINOS: The autonomous Watering Robot

RAINOS: The autonomous Watering Robot
Innovation

The RAINOS watering robot from Innok Robotics is revolutionizing irrigation in the green sector, particularly in cemeteries, tree nurseries and parks. It has been further developed for IPM 2025 so that even smaller businesses, like with 200 or more graves to water, can now benefit from the robot immediately.

Another new feature is the increased variability of the RAINOS, as it can now reverse out of narrow paths while maintaining the highest safety standards for humans and animals.

The robot navigates autonomously to the areas to be watered and supplies them precisely and individually with the required amount of water. This significantly reduces the workload on staff and minimizes water consumption due to the usually night-time watering and targeted irrigation.
When its water tank is empty, the RAINOS refills automatically at the Innok refuelling stations. By using the RAINOS, a cemetery nursery was able to reduce the amount of work involved in watering by over 70 per cent while optimizing water consumption and generating new revenue through watering orders.

A highlight for all cemetery gardeners at the end of the second day of the fair.

Cemetery gardener Heino Schwarz (Blumen Schwanrz - Schwabach) has been using the RAINOS watering robot from the very beginning (for 4 years now). He reports first-hand on the advantages of autonomous watering of graves or other areas of the garden centre with the RAINOS watering robot from Innok Robotics.

Creative applications and ideas resulting from 4 years of experience with the RAINOS robot will be presented at this lecture at first hand!

General information about the robot:

The RAINOS watering robot from Innok Robotics is revolutionising irrigation in the green industry, particularly in cemeteries or in tree nurseries and parks. It has been further developed for IPM 2025 in such a way that smaller businesses, for example with 200 graves to water, can now also benefit from the robot immediately.

Another new feature is the increased versatility of the RAINOS, as it can now reverse out of narrow paths while maintaining the highest safety standards for people and animals.

The robot navigates autonomously to the areas to be watered and supplies them precisely and individually with the required amount of water. This considerably reduces the workload for staff and reduces water consumption by watering mostly at night and in a targeted manner. When its water tank is empty, the RAINOS automatically refills it at Innok refuelling stations. By using the RAINOS, a cemetery gardening service was able to reduce the amount of work involved in watering by over 70%, while optimising water consumption and tapping into new sources of revenue through watering contracts. Numerous TV stations such as Sat1, WDR and Tagesschau have recently reported on the robot. All the information is available at Innok's stand in Hall 3 – 3A12, directly at the West entrance, or at Innok-Robotics.de.

Innok Robotics - Autonomous mobile robots as a success factor in the green sector

Innok Robotics - Autonomous mobile robots as a success factor in the green sector

Innok Robotics, based in Regenstauf (north of Regensburg), has been one of the technology and market leaders in highly innovative ‘autonomous mobile robots’ (AMRs) that can also operate outdoors since 2012 and is one of the few manufacturers worldwide in this field. From development and programming to assembly, Innok Robotics provides customers with everything from a single source. The unique selling point of Innok robots is that they not only operate indoors in perfectly equipped halls, but are also capable of multi-terrain operation. They can also operate indoors on poor floors and without structural measures on the buildings, as well as outdoors in all weathers and over obstacles.

The HIGHLIGHT here is the RAINOS watering robot, which is already being used in many cemeteries by local authorities, cemetery gardeners and tree nurseries, as well as the INDUROS autonomous transport robot, which autonomously handles the transport of CC trolleys at Landgard, for example.

Innok robots help to overcome staff shortages by supplementing or replacing human labour, even in hazardous environments. Customers include successful small and medium-sized enterprises and large international global corporations such as TotalEnergies, Kubota, Infineon, K+S, Daimler, the Port of Hamburg, Fraunhofer Institutes, universities and many cemetery garden centres.

Company profile

Innok Robotics is the market leader for autonomous mobile robotic vehicles for outdoor applications and
demanding environments. We make robots that support and relieve people in their work. Our robots make heavy work easier for our customers and relieve them of dangerous work. We translate pioneering research into current, reliable technology.

The RAINOS irrigation robot waters graves fully automatically. The robot waters up to 20,000 litres per night and refills automatically. You can conveniently change the watering quantity and watering time for each grave as well as many other settings at any time using the app. You can start automatic watering simply by pressing a button.

The INDUROS transport robot moves goods from A to B, both indoors and outdoors or in combination. Thanks to Innok Hybrid Navigation, it does not need to make any changes to existing buildings or routes. The INDUROS defies all weathers and has no problems with poor floors/subfloors or thresholds. It charges itself inductively at its base station. Trailers are coupled and uncoupled autonomously.

We develop and manufacture all our products in Germany and have an extensive network of regional suppliers. This enables us to guarantee the high quality of our products.
