Masecor has just launched a new wood fibre production line.
In our quest to move towards a more sustainable future, and taking into account the environmental and economic impact of raw materials such as blond peat and coconut fibre, Masecor is betting on wood fibre, a product with similar physical and chemical qualities, but produced locally and close to the end consumer.
Wood fibre is a component used in the creation of high-quality substrates, used in agriculture, gardening and nurseries. Thanks to its ability to improve water retention and aeration in the roots, this material promotes healthy plant growth and reduces the use of water resources.
Masecor has a final recovery plant for wood and plant waste that has been in operation for more than 35 years.
In our facilities we classify and recover wood waste to condition biomass and compost organic-plant matter for the production of substrates.
With sufficient experience in both sectors, substrate production and wood waste management, the installation of a wood fibre production line was the next step.
Masecor becomes the spearhead of wood fibre production in Spain to continue betting on a circular and, above all, sustainable economy.
This new production line is a strategic advance for Masecor and reinforces our commitment to sustainable innovation in agriculture, which will allow us to offer a high-performance substrate, as well as an efficient and renewable solution.
Wood fibre is a product that is already giving its first positive results in Europe, although it has not yet spread sufficiently in Spain.
